Further Gun Fun

So basically right after I wrote the Dick Cheney post I stumbled upon a new tid-bit. I know that Jeremy won't be overly interested in this, but a portion of this blog has to be dedicated to the sports side of life. So Sebastian Telfair who has been marketed as the face of the Blazers finally gets in the news. However, it has nothing to do with his play on the court.

Apparently a loaded gun was found on the team plane as the team was getting ready to fly out of Boston. The story gets even better with Telfair's excuse being that it was his girlfriend's gun, and that he accidently grabbed her bag. First off, does anyone really believe that it was his girl's gun(even though it is registered in her name). I mean how many 20 year-old girl's are dying to get their hands on a pistol. Secondly, why in the world does a 20 year-old millionaire need a gun? Is he really afraid of someone capping him in Portland? Lastly, why(even if he needed a gun) would he need to take the gun on a team trip.

All athletes should take heed of the necessity to not have a gun or be associated with gun use. Some classic examples of gun totting athletes include Jayson Williams blowing a massive hole into his limo driver's stomach(and then trying to cover up the killing by claiming it was a suicide. This is a guy who lived on a 50-acre estate and had more money then he could ever spend in a life time, yet he got off on showing people his fancy guns. You would think that Telfair could have learned a lesson from Williams. But I guess the saying that you can take the person out of the hood but you can't take the hood out of the person holds true.

your middle paragraph here raises some good questions. but I think you missed the most important one: how on earth does a dude like that accidently take his girlfriend's bag? did he think the one with the hello kitty on it was his?

Exactly. Last I checked I wasn't mistaking any of Tia's bags for my own.
