Jack is Back!

Another season of 24 kicked off last night. It was just as intense as it always is. Even though the fact that Jack Bauer is basically a superhero who can't be killed or do wrong(thus making the story somewhat unbelievable)I just love this show.

I also appreciate the fact that Fox airs 4 hours in 2 days and then just continues to put 24 on the tube everyweek, instead of going on these stupid month long hiatus'. So let me just be the first to say, Welcome back Jack. We have all missed you.

Becks to the States

So now Sir David Beckham, the man of the amazing free kick has decided to move to the USA. Homeboy will be making $250 million dollars over 5 years. That's right folks, $250 million dollars. Can someone please explain to me how this is financially viable? I don't think that MLS total revenues even approach $50 million dollars on an annual basis.

So the important issue on this is will Soccer finally overtake the USA? What will be the impact of Beck jumping across the pond? Will this have the same effect as when Pele played for the New York Cosmos? Will we one day have the big 4 in terms of sports?

As for me this definitely raises my interest in MLS. Not because I have some hom-erotic fascination with Beckham, but because I want to see him bend that ball. David I will see you in Salt Lake in a few short months.
