Goodbye Oregon

So I haven't updated this puppy in over a month. Now I can barely even say that I am a member of the blogosphere. What with finals, and watching Tia pack up our apartment I haven't had any time to blog. So I thought it was about time that I got on here. I think that in the next few weeks I will be updating this puppy on a regular basis.

Oregon has treated us well over the last few years, and while I love to complain about my hatred of the rain I am really going to miss this place. A quick list of Oregon's qualities that we found are: We have made good friends here, and have both been able to obtain more education. We have seen some beautiful parts of the Pacific Northwest. Tia has found a job that she absolutely loves. The Blazers are bad and look to get worse. The political climate is more than interesting, with our friends at church bring as far right as a loony person can go, while the rest of the folks up in Portland think that the people in China are better off politically than we are.

With that being said there are some nice things on the horizon. We look forward to moving back to Douglas Street, and Salt Lake City in particular. We are eager to hop into the SLC restaurant scene that we have been missing out on these last couple of years. While Salem has some excellent Mexican joints we have never really found anything else that was all that appealing. So just off the top of my head we can't wait to eat at Cafe Rio, Market Street, Luganos, Crown Burger, The Mandarin and numerous other joints. We are excited to be reunited with family and friends. I in particular am excited about the upcoming University of Utah football season. Having only witnessed in person one game of the Urban Meyer era, and having attend just about zero football games here, the anticipation is mounting for the start of pig-skin season.

In honor of upcoming graduation I have included a picture of someone who I don't know, but I thought it was appropriate for the occasion. Seeing as how we are living out of boxes and the computer is just about the only thing that isn't packed this will be my last post from Oregon. Its just a little bitter sweet.
