Forza Italia

We just got done watching the World Cup Final and while it wasn't the most exciting game ever, I more than enjoyed myself. The Italians played their type of soccer, "catenaccio" and the French were basically helpless. It is kind of sad that a month of incredible soccer is over with. I can't say that the withdrawls will be as bad as March Madness, but the hangover will remain nonetheless.

This is a picture of Fabio Cannavaro who most people consider to be the best player in the tournament. He was the main cog in Italy's shut down D.

while i only watched the final 75 minutes and the shootout, I would hesitate a long time to say that italy dominated. I actually thought that even though france couldn't score (other than their PKs), they held possession for most of the match and Italy did little more than play defense (very well). Give it up for the Italian goalkeeper and his amazing save. I also agreed w/ the offsides call against italy, though it was extremely close (like 3"). France was pressing the whole time i watched and I was dissapointed to see them lose. No game should be decided on one man's error (crossbar shot on france's second PK). Henry is amazing. What about that headbutt?!?! how's barbri going? two weeks to go....
