Congrats to Florida
Not only has Florida now gone back to back in basketball, but they are the current "BCS" champs in college football. A lot of this can be atributed to the recruitment of outstanding athletes. However, I think that the most important thing is that the University of Florida is that they have brought in amazing coaches.
First, they stole Urban Meyer away from Utah. In two years he took the Gators from being a 7-5 team, to national champions. He instituted his spread-option offense in the SEC when all the know it alls said it couldn't be done. Those of us who love the University of Utah still dream of the days of Urban and wish that he would return, or that Kyle Whittingham could become Urban Jr.
The basketball team has Billy Donovan, breaking down X's and O's for them. For years Donovan was known as an amaxing recruiter whose teams tended to underachieve in the postseason. However, he seems to have turned the corner, and has now gone back to back. The big question is, will he leave for Kentucky? Florida fans might have to experience the heart break that Utah fan is all to familiar with.
I don't see things changing at Florida. With the amount of BCS money, NCAA tourney money, tv money(from CBS who broadcasts the SEC), and the fact that they always sell out the swamp, Florida will always have top notch facilities, and be able to pay their coaches whatever they want. I guess if someone if going to dominate it might as well be Urban.
